SDMX registry hosting and directory
Find an SDMX service. Host your own registry.
sdmx.cloud is a public directory of SDMX registries and data services, wherever they are hosted, each checked daily. You can also secure your organisation’s name and run a free registry for building and testing.

A directory of SDMX services you can trust
Browse the directoryChecked every day
We query each listed endpoint daily and show whether it answered, with the last 14 days of checks, which SDMX versions it speaks and what it holds.
Only what the service reports
Every listing says who added it. A listing added by sdmx.cloud states only what its endpoint reports about itself: no descriptions, no claims made on its behalf.
Reviewed, and claimable by its owner
Anyone with a confirmed account can suggest a public SDMX service, wherever it is hosted. An sdmx.cloud admin reviews each one, and the organisation that runs it can claim its listing with a DNS record.

Name it, and a working Fusion Metadata Registry with its own endpoint is ready for your team to build and test against. No servers to run, no database to look after.
To the standard
Your registry is a Fusion Metadata Registry (FMR) and speaks the SDMX REST API for structures, so existing tools connect without changes.
Verified names
Every registry name is checked against the organisation that claims it, so an address on sdmx.cloud tells people who is behind it.
Kept apart
Each registry runs in its own namespace with its own database login, and no registry can reach another.
Readable by AI assistants, and only readable
Assistant access is a standard interface, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), that lets AI assistants read the structures in your registry. It is read-only by design: nothing can be written through it.
Structures only, such as CL_FREQ or NSO:CPI(1.0). Requests are rate-limited and logged, and the registry owner can switch access off.

Free registries run on infrastructure Statistical Networks operates itself, with each registry kept separate.
Encrypted in transit
Every endpoint is served over HTTPS, with certificates from Let’s Encrypt.
One sign-in
Your sdmx.cloud account signs you in to the console and to your registries. There is no second password.
Run by people who have worked on SDMX registries from the first one.
From the first registry
Our team has worked on SDMX registry software since the first implementation.
In production
We have deployed and operated public SDMX registries and data services used for international data exchange, and we run them today.
Close to the software
We follow each registry release closely, so your registry is looked after by people who know how it works inside.
Questions
What is SDMX?
SDMX (Statistical Data and Metadata eXchange) is an ISO standard, ISO 17369, for describing and exchanging statistical data and metadata. Central banks, statistical offices and international organisations use it to publish and exchange data.
What is an SDMX registry?
A registry holds the structures that describe statistical data, such as data structure definitions, codelists and concept schemes, and makes them available through the SDMX REST API so that other systems can find and use them.
Which software does a hosted registry run?
Each hosted registry is a Fusion Metadata Registry (FMR). It speaks the SDMX REST API for structures, so existing SDMX tools connect without changes.
Is the free registry for publishing statistics?
No. A free Developer registry is for building and testing. Its address ends in .dev.sdmx.cloud. A Production registry, at your own name and without .dev, is opening later.
How does a service get into the directory?
Anyone with a confirmed sdmx.cloud account can suggest a public SDMX service, wherever it is hosted. An sdmx.cloud admin reviews each suggestion before it is listed. An organisation that runs a listed service can claim its listing by adding a DNS record.
Can AI assistants read a hosted registry?
Yes, through assistant access: each hosted registry can answer AI assistants over the Model Context Protocol (MCP) at its own address. It serves structures only, and it is read-only.
Do I need a separate password for my registry?
No. Your sdmx.cloud account signs you in to the console and to your registries.
Sign in to secure your name.
Your organisation’s name on sdmx.cloud becomes yours when you claim it. Sign in with your work email address, choose the name, and your first registry is free.
